As a Good Neighbor you will get paid for representing one or more artists to help them photograph, list sell, and ship their items.

Although being a Good Neighbor does not require a lot of experience, it does require some basic skills as well as some knowledge of arts and crafts.

Different artisans have different needs, therefore your services to them could include any or all of the following:

  • Photographing, scanning and developing pictures of products

  • Listing items for sale at eCraftVillage

  • Enhancing the artisan's description of items

  • Handling payments for items sold

  • Providing advice to the artisan on issues such as pricing, shipping, type of auction, etc.

  • Assisting the artisan with customer relations

  • Packaging and shipping the artisan's products

The amount of assistance required by the artisan will depend upon their individual needs.  For instance, an artisan you represent may have quality photographs available but a need for scanning services, or they may have a digital camera but a need for listing services.  In addition, the artisan may prefer that you take care of all packaging and shipping of their products.

Benefits of being an eCraftVillage Good Neighbor include:

  • Earning commissions and fees for services provided

  • The flexibility to work from home, at your own hours

  • The opportunity to represent as few or as many artisans as you like

  • Support from eCraftVillage in terms of assistance, advice and free advertising of your services on our site.

Your charges for providing Good Neighbor services are completely up to you.  As an example, we provide the following fee schedule:

  • $2 per item that you scan or photograph

  • $5 listing fee per item listed (in addition to any eCraftVillage listing fees)

  • 10% commission on all item sales

Once you have formed a business relationship with an artisan, you should ask them to provide you with:

  • A reasonably good description of the items to be sold

  • A suitable photograph of the items, or the items themselves so you may photograph them

  • Their pricing strategy, which you can help to develop

  • Their contact information

  • An agreement from the artisan that they will provide the items as agreed and live up to their end of your bargain.

eCraftVillage will refer artisans to Good Neighbors when they contact us, and we will list Good Neighbors on our site free of charge, as well as actively promote the Good Neighbor program.  If you would like to become a Good Neighbor and have your contact information listed on our site, simply email your name and address to us at neighbor@ecraftvillage.com.
